Procedure
1. Park your car on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake.
2. Locate the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan. It is a 17mm bolt.
3. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug. Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the oil that will drain out.
4. Loosen the oil drain plug. Use a 17mm wrench to loosen the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the bolt into the oil pan.
5. Allow the oil to drain. Let the oil drain completely into the oil pan. This may take a few minutes.
6. Replace the oil drain plug. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug. Tighten the plug until it is snug.
7. Locate the oil filter. The oil filter is located near the top of the engine. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with a black cap.
8. Remove the oil filter. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter. Be careful not to spill any oil.
9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This will help to create a seal and prevent leaks.
10. Screw on the new oil filter. Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug. Do not over-tighten the oil filter.
11. Add new oil to the engine. Use a funnel to add new oil to the engine. Add the amount of oil specified in your vehicle's owner's manual.
12. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new oil throughout the engine.
13. Check the oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
Replace oil pump by following the steps below.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel filter.
3. Remove the air intake tube.
4. Remove the serpentine belt.
5. Remove the harmonic balancer.
6. Remove the oil pan.
7. Remove the oil pump pickup tube.
8. Remove the oil pump.
9. Install the new oil pump.
10. Install the new oil pump pickup tube.
11. Install the oil pan.
12. Install the harmonic balancer.
13. Install the serpentine belt.
14. Install the air intake tube.
15. Install the fuel filter.
16. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
