1. Turn the ignition switch to the "Off" position.
2. Locate the diagnostic connector under the hood of the vehicle. It is usually located near the battery.
3. Connect a scan tool or code reader to the diagnostic connector.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position, but do not start the engine.
5. Follow the instructions on the scan tool or code reader to reset the service engine light.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the "Off" position and disconnect the scan tool or code reader.
If the service engine light does not reset, there may be a problem with the emissions system. You will need to take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic to have the problem diagnosed and repaired.
