Instructions:
1. Disconnect the Battery:
- Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of your car's battery to prevent any electrical accidents during the repair.
2. Remove the Door Panel:
- Use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the plastic covers that hide the door panel screws.
- Remove the exposed screws using a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Gently pull the door panel upwards and outwards, starting from the bottom, to release it from the clips holding it in place.
- Be cautious not to damage any wiring or clips during this process.
3. Locate the Power Window Motor:
- Once the door panel is removed, you'll see the inner workings of the door.
- The power window motor is usually attached to the window regulator, which is a metal assembly that moves the window up and down.
4. Remove the Old Motor:
- Identify the power window motor electrical connector and carefully unplug it.
- Use the socket wrench set to remove the bolts that hold the power window motor in place.
- Gently lift the motor off the regulator, being careful not to drop it.
5. Prepare the New Motor:
- Compare the new motor with the old one to make sure they're compatible.
- If necessary, transfer any mounting brackets or attachments from the old motor to the new one.
6. Connect the New Motor:
- Align the new motor with the window regulator and secure it using the bolts you removed earlier.
- Reconnect the electrical connector to the new motor.
7. Test the Motor:
- Reconnect the battery terminal.
- Roll the window up and down using the power window switch to ensure that the new motor is functioning correctly.
8. Reinstall the Door Panel:
- Carefully align the door panel and press it back into place until the clips secure it.
- Replace the screws and plastic covers you removed earlier.
9. Clean Up:
- Clean up any tools or materials you used during the repair.
