1. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to bring the transmission fluid to operating temperature.
2. Shift the transmission into each gear and back to park.
3. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes to allow the transmission fluid to settle.
4. Pull out the transmission fluid dipstick and wipe it clean.
5. Reinsert the dipstick fully and pull it out again to check the fluid level.
6. The transmission fluid level should be between the "HOT" and "COLD" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, you can add more fluid through the dipstick tube.
8. Be sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid for your vehicle.
NOTE: If the fluid is significantly low, do not turn off the engine to fill as this can cause serious transmission damage. Instead, add fluid until the level is correct and then turn the engine off.
