How do you remove crank pulley on 97 f150?

To remove the crank pulley on a 1997 Ford F150, you will need the following tools:

•1/2-inch drive ratchet

•17mm socket

•Breaker bar

•36mm socket

•Puller tool

•Flat-head screwdriver

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Raise the front of the truck and support it on jack stands.

3. Remove the serpentine belt.

4. Remove the four bolts that hold the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft.

5. Use a puller tool to remove the harmonic balancer from the crankshaft.

6. Clean the crankshaft and the harmonic balancer mating surfaces.

7. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the crankshaft mating surface.

8. Install the harmonic balancer onto the crankshaft.

9. Hand-tighten the four bolts that hold the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft.

10. Tighten the bolts in a star pattern to 25 ft-lbs.

11. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

12. Lower the truck off of the jack stands.
