2. Clean the fuel level sensor:
- If there is no visible damage to the fuel level sensor, try cleaning it.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor and remove the sensor from the fuel tank.

- Allow the sensor to dry completely before reinstalling it.
3. Check the wiring:
- Inspect the wiring harness that connects the fuel level sensor to the fuel gauge.
- Ensure the wiring is properly connected and there are no loose or broken wires. Repair or replace any damaged wiring as needed.
4. Test the fuel gauge:
- Once the sensor and wiring have been checked, test the fuel gauge to see if it is working correctly.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel gauge and connect a multimeter to the terminals.
- Set the multimeter to read resistance and move the fuel gauge sender arm up and down. The resistance should change smoothly as you move the arm.
5. Replace the fuel gauge:
- If the fuel gauge does not respond correctly to the movement of the sender arm, it is likely faulty and will need to be replaced.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel gauge and remove it from the instrument cluster.
- Install a new fuel gauge by following the reverse procedure.
