2. Locate the rubber grommet in the firewall. This is where you will drill the hole for your amplifier power cable. If there is an existing hole, it may have been used for another wire or cable, but it is best to use a fresh hole.
3. Use a step bit to drill a hole through the firewall. Start with a small bit and gradually increase the size until the hole is large enough to accommodate the power cable. Be sure to drill in a straight line so that the cable does not get caught on anything.
4. Once the hole is drilled, insert the power cable into it and secure it with the rubber grommet. Make sure that the cable is properly insulated so that it does not short out against anything.
5. Test the power cable to make sure that it is working properly. Connect the positive terminal of the power cable to the positive terminal of the amplifier and the negative terminal to the negative terminal of the amplifier. Turn on the amplifier and check to make sure that it is receiving power.
