Directions to install a fuel pump on 1990 crown Victoria?

1. Disconnect the battery. This is an important safety precaution to prevent sparks from igniting fuel vapors.

3. Remove the fuel pump sending unit. This is the assembly that contains the fuel pump, fuel level sensor, and fuel filter. It is usually located inside the fuel tank.

4. Remove the fuel pump. The fuel pump is usually held in place by a few bolts. Remove these bolts and carefully remove the fuel pump.

5. Install the new fuel pump. Carefully insert the new fuel pump into the fuel tank sending unit. Be sure to align the fuel pump inlet and outlet with the corresponding ports in the sending unit.

9. Reinstall the fuel tank. Carefully lift the fuel tank into place and bolt it in place using the bolts that you removed in step 2.

10. Reconnect the battery. Finally, reconnect the battery.

11. Prime the fuel system. Before starting the engine, you need to prime the fuel system. This can be done by turning the ignition key to the "On" position for a few seconds without starting the engine. This will allow the fuel pump to fill the fuel lines and pressurize the fuel system.

12. Start the engine. Once the fuel system is primed, you can start the engine. Check for leaks and if everything looks good, your fuel pump is now installed.
