How do you remove the transmission on a 1985 Dodge D100 4x4?

Tools Needed

* Floor jack

* Jack stands

* 1/2" socket set

* 3/8" socket set

* ratchet

* Extensions

* Torque wrench

Instructions

1. Raise the truck on the floor jack.

2. Place the jack stands underneath the truck. Lower the truck until it is secure on the jack stands.

3. Remove the bolts holding the transmission mount in place.

>

4. Remove the starter.

>

5. Disconnect the electrical connections from the transmission.

>

6. Disconnect the transmission lines.

>

7. Remove the bolts holding the transmission to the engine.

>

8. Use a pry bar to move the transmission away from the engine.

>

9. Lower the transmission down.

>

10. Remove the old transmission mount.

>

11. Install a new transmission mount.

>

12. Lift the transmission up and connect it to the engine.

>

13. Install the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine.

>

14. Connect the transmission lines.

>

15. Connect the electrical connections to the transmission.

>

16. Install the starter.

>

17. Install the bolts holding the transmission mount in place.

>

18. Lower the truck to the ground.
