Instructions
1. Disconnect the battery.
This is a safety precaution to prevent you from accidentally damaging the electrical system.
2. Remove the instrument panel.
There are six screws that hold the instrument panel in place. Two are located at the top of the panel, two are located in the middle, and two are located at the bottom. Remove these screws and then carefully pull the instrument panel out.
3. Remove the odometer.
There are four screws that hold the odometer in place. Two screws are located on either side of the odometer. Remove these screws and then gently remove the odometer.
4. Clean the odometer.
Use the compressed air to blow the dirt and dust out of the odometer. Then wipe the odometer with the soft cloth.
5. Inspect the gears.
The gears in the odometer are responsible for moving the numbers. Inspect the gears for any that are broken or damaged. If you find any broken gears, you can replace them by purchasing new gears from a Ford dealer.
6. Reassemble the odometer.
Once the gears have been replaced, you can reassemble the odometer. To do this, simply insert the odometer into the instrument panel and secure it with the four screws.
7. Reconnect the battery.
Now you can reconnect the battery.
8. Test the odometer.
Start the engine and check to see if the odometer is working properly. If the odometer is working properly, you have successfully repaired it!
