Step-1 Locate Fuel Pump
- The fuel pump is located under the vehicle, near the fuel tank.
Step-2 Disconnect Fuel Lines
- Disconnect the fuel lines from the pump using the fuel filter wrench.
Step-3 Remove Fuel Pump Retainer Ring
- Use a screwdriver to pry off the retainer ring holding the fuel pump in place.
Step-4 Remove Fuel Pump
- Pull the fuel pump out of the tank.
Step-5 Install New Pump
- Insert the new fuel pump into the tank.
- Attach the retainer ring.
Step-6 Connect Fuel Lines
- Connect the fuel lines to the fuel pump using fuel line connector clips.
- Tighten the fuel line connections.
Step-7 Test Fuel Pump
- Turn the key to the “ON” position (don't start engine)
- Ensure the pump has power by listening for the whirring sound of the fuel pump priming the system.
- If no sound can be heard, check for proper connections and power source.
Step-8 Start the Engine
- Start the engine to ensure that the fuel pump is working properly.
Step-9 Check for Leaks
- Look under the vehicle for any signs of fuel leaks.
- Ensure that the fuel pump and fuel lines are securely connected.
