How do you install valve cover gasket on 1995 Mazda mpv?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- New Valve Cover Gasket

- 5mm Hexagon Socket

- Ratchet and Extension

- Flat-Head Screwdriver

- Scraper

- Rubber Mallet

- Clean Rags

- Gasket Maker (Optional)

Instructions:

1. Park your Mazda MPV on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.

2. Open the hood and locate the valve cover. It is usually at the top of the engine, but the exact location may vary depending on the model.

3. Disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle's battery.

4. Remove the valve cover bolts using a 5mm hexagon socket and ratchet. There may be several bolts, so be sure to remove all of them.

5. Gently pry off the valve cover using a flat-head screwdriver or scraper. Be careful not to damage the gasket or the valve cover.

6. Clean the mating surface of the cylinder head and the valve cover thoroughly. Use a scraper to remove any old gasket material or deposits.

7. Apply a thin layer of gasket maker (optional) to the mating surface of the cylinder head.

8. Place the new valve cover gasket in place.

9. Reinstall the valve cover and secure it with the bolts you removed earlier.

10. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

11. Start your vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the valve cover. If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts until the leak stops.

Additional Notes:

1. If you are not comfortable performing this task, you can have it done by a qualified mechanic.

2. Be sure to use a high-quality valve cover gasket that is compatible with your Mazda MPV.
