- 10mm socket
- 12mm socket
- Ratchet
- Extension
- Flathead screwdriver
1. Disconnect the fuel line - Use the 10mm socket to unbolt the fuel line bracket holding the fuel lines in place at the top of the injector. Remove the fuel lines from the rail using a flathead screwdriver to disengage them. Be prepared for a small amount of diesel to escape so have rags handy
2. Loosen injector line bolts - There are injector line bolts going to each individual injector. Start by breaking free these bolts at all 6 locations using the 12mm socket, extension , and ratchet but do not fully remove (loosen 1-2 turns only on each)
3. Remove the oil spill back line - Pull and lift the hose up and outward off the rail then move away to the side
4. Release the injector hold down clamps using socket and extension ( 6 locations with 2 at one end, 2 in the middle and 2 on the other end at an angle)
5. Slide fuel rail out along with the injectors as the rail brackets pull the injectors along with the rail - If they don’t move freely you most likely missed releasing one of the injector clamps
6. Slide/Lift up and carefully set the injector/fuel rail assembly to aside
7. Using 12 mm remove individual injectors bolts (6) that will allow the injectors to just come right out (wiggle as needed while pulling down to work free any resistance or vacuum) Once injector has cleared the cylinder head carefully tilt and remove and place aside.
