1. Locate the idle air control valve (IACV). The IACV is located on the throttle body, which is connected to the intake manifold. It is a black cylinder with a two-wire connector.
2. Disconnect the IACV connector. Once the IACV is disconnected, you can adjust its position.
3. Loosen the IACV mounting screws. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the two screws that hold the IACV in place.
4. Turn the IACV to adjust the idle speed. Turn the IACV clockwise to increase the idle speed, or counterclockwise to decrease it.
5. Once the idle speed is correctly set, tighten the IACV mounting screws. Reconnect the IACV connector.
