1. Open the hood: Release the hood latch located inside your car, usually near the driver's footwell, and lift the hood.
2. Locate the headlight assembly: The headlight assembly is usually located behind a plastic cover on the front of the vehicle. To access it, remove the cover by gently prying it off with a flathead screwdriver or a trim removal tool.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector: Locate the electrical connector attached to the headlight bulb. Press the release tab on the connector and disconnect it by gently pulling it straight out.
4. Remove the old bulb: Once the connector is disconnected, you can remove the old bulb. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise until it comes free, and then pull it straight out.
5. Install the new bulb: Align the new bulb with the socket and gently insert it, turning it clockwise until it locks in place. Make sure the bulb is firmly secured.
6. Reconnect the electrical connector: Reconnect the electrical connector to the new bulb by pressing it until it clicks into place.
7. Test the new bulb: Turn on the headlights to ensure that the new bulb is working properly. Check the beam alignment, and adjust if necessary.
8. Reinstall the cover: Put the plastic cover back in place, making sure it is securely attached.
9. Close the hood: Lower the hood, and fasten the latch to close it.
10. Dispose of the old bulb: Make sure to dispose of the old bulb properly. Halogen bulbs contain harmful chemicals, so check with your local recycling center or waste disposal facility for proper disposal guidelines.
