1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the trunk.
3. Locate the access panel for the fuel tank. It is usually a plastic cover held in place by screws or clips.
4. Remove the access panel.
5. Locate the fuel pump assembly. It is a cylindrical metal object with electrical wires connected to it.
6. Disconnect the electrical wires from the fuel pump.
7. Unscrew the bolts holding the fuel pump assembly in place.
8. Carefully lift the fuel pump assembly out of the fuel tank.
9. Replace the fuel pump with a new one.
10. Re-install the fuel pump assembly and tighten the bolts.
11. Reconnect the electrical wires.
12. Replace the access panel.
