The crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor) on the 1997 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L engine can be found on the front of the engine block, near the bottom. It is usually located behind the timing belt cover, near the oil filter. The sensor is typically held in place by one or two bolts.
