Instructions:
1. Prepare your vehicle.
- Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
- Raise the vehicle with a jack and place it on jack stands.
- Locate the broken tailpipe and muffler.
2. Remove the broken tailpipe.
- Use a wrench to loosen the bolts or clamps that connect the tailpipe to the muffler.
- If the bolts or clamps are rusted or damaged, you may need to use a hacksaw to cut them off.
- Once the bolts or clamps are removed, remove the broken tailpipe.
3. Clean the muffler.
- Use a wire brush to clean the surface of the muffler where the tailpipe will attach.
- Remove any rust, dirt, or debris that may be present.
4. Apply silicone sealant to the muffler
- Apply a thin layer of silicone sealant to the surface of the muffler. Make sure to cover the entire area where the new tailpipe will be connected.
- Wait for the sealant to set, according to the manufacturer's instructions, to the surface.
5. Install the new tailpipe.
- Slide the new tailpipe onto the muffler, making sure that the sealant is still in place.
- Secure the tailpipe by using new clamps or bolts.
6. Lower the vehicle.
- Jack up the vehicle and carefully remove the jack stands. Make sure to lower the vehicle slowly.
7. Test the tailpipe.
- Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
- Check under the vehicle for any leaks. Make sure to inspect the area where the tailpipe is attached to the muffler.
- If there are any leaks, tighten the clamps or bolts until the leaks are stopped.
8. Paint (optional).
- If desired, you can spray paint the new tailpipe to match the rest of your vehicle's exhaust system.
9. Clean Up
