Do you have to remove the gas tank in order replace canister vent shut valve?
It is not necessary to remove the gas tank to replace the canister vent shut valve. The purge vent valve is located in the back of the engine compartment on most cars. It is a small black solenoid that is connected to the fuel tank by a hose. To replace the valve, simply disconnect the hose and then unbolt the valve from the engine block. Be careful not to spill any fuel when disconnecting the hose.
