1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place jack stands under the frame to support the vehicle.
3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
4. Remove the brake drum retaining clips. There are two clips, one on the top and one on the bottom of the brake drum. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the clips off.
5. Pull the brake drum off the axle. The brake drum may be stuck, so you may need to pry it off with a pry bar or a hammer.
6. Inspect the brake drum for wear and damage. The brake drum should be smooth and free of cracks. If the brake drum is worn or damaged, it will need to be replaced.
7.To reinstall the brake drum, simply reverse the steps above.
