NOTE:
The fuel system is under pressure, so it is important to relieve the pressure before starting the replacement process.
1. Ensure that the engine is turned off and cool to the touch. Engage the parking brake.
2. Access the passenger's side floor beneath the kick panel area near the firewall behind the seats.
3. Locate a black, cylindrical object with two black tubing lines and one metal tubing line connected to it. The metal line will run towards the front of the vehicle.
4. Place a drip pan under the fuel filter to catch any spillage.
5. Gently squeeze or bend the connector tabs of the fuel filter line connectors using your hands to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter. Remove the fuel lines. Be careful not to let any fuel spill on yourself.
6. Use an open-ended wrench to loosen and remove the metal tubing connector from the filter. Hold the filter with another wrench with one hand while loosening the metal tubing connector.
7. Inspect the fuel filter and the lines for any damage or corrosion.
8. Insert the replacement filter in place of the old one. Ensure the fuel filter is properly inserted and secured in place.
9. Reconnect the fuel lines and the metal tubing connector. Start the engine and check for any fuel leaks.
10. Replace the kick panel into its original position.
