1. Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually marked with a red or orange handle.
3. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag or tissue.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid tube until it seats all the way.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark. Use only Dexron III transmission fluid.
It's important to check the transmission fluid level regularly, as low fluid levels can cause transmission damage.
