Where is the oil filter located on a 97 ford ranger?

2.3L (140 cid) I-4 and 2.5L (155 cid) I-4 Engines

1. Remove the air filter housing to access the oil filter.

>a) Loosen the air filter housing cap and remove it.

>b) Remove the hose from the air filter housing to the throttle body.

>c) Remove the screw from the side of the air filter housing and lift it off the carburetor air horn.

2. Place an oil drain under the oil filter to catch any oil that may spill.

3. Loosen the oil filter with an oil filter wrench.

4. Remove the oil filter and discard it.

5. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

6. Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug.

7. Replace the air filter housing.
