Parts Needed:
- Replacement Fuel Filter.
- Rag
-Container
-Screwdriver
Instructions
Step 1: Locate the fuel filter
- Lift the vehicle securely
- The fuel filter is located on the underside of the vehicle just next to the fuel tank.
Step 2: Disconnect Battery.
- Using a screwdriver remove battery terminal cable
Step 3: Find Fuel Line Clips
- Locate the two fuel line clips (one on each end of the fuel filter).
- These are black plastic pieces that hold the fuel lines in place.
Step 4: Remove Fuel Lines.
- Slide the fuel line clips away from the filter and disconnect the fuel lines by pressing the release tab and pulling the lines off the filter.
- Have your container handy to catch the small amount of fuel that will come out when the lines are disconnected.
Step 5: Unscrew old fuel filter.
- Use a screwdriver to loosen the old fuel filter. (There may be two screws and a bracket holding the filter in place.)
Step 6: Replace fuel filter.
- Screw the new fuel filter into place, with the arrow indicating the direction of fuel flow.
Step 7: Reattach battery terminal cable.
Step 8: Reattach fuel lines
- Slide the fuel line clips back into place to secure the fuel lines.
Step 9: Start Engine
- Start the car to check for leaks.
Step 10: Lower Vehicle Slowly.
