- A clear plastic hose with a diameter of about 5 mm (1/4 inch).
- A suitable container to catch any spilt fuel.
2.Locate the fuel filter:
- In the Vivaro, the fuel filter is located in the engine compartment, on the driver's side near the windshield.
3.Prepare the fuel line:
- Use the flat-head screwdriver to loosen and remove the clamp that secures the fuel line at the inlet of the fuel filter.
- Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter.
- Attach the clear plastic hose to the disconnected fuel line.
- Ensure that the hose is long enough to reach the fuel container.
4.Turn the ignition key to the ON (II) position:
- This will activate the fuel pump without starting the engine.
- As the fuel pump pressurizes the fuel line, it will push out the air and fuel mixture through the clear plastic hose.
5.Monitor the fuel flow:
- Observe the flow of fuel through the clear plastic hose.
- When you notice that there are no more air bubbles and only pure fuel is flowing through the hose, it indicates that the fuel system has been properly bled.
6.Reconnect the fuel line:
- Once fuel is flowing without any air bubbles, reattach the fuel line to the fuel filter and secure it using the clamp.
7.Start the engine:
- Turn the ignition key to the START position to start the engine.
8.Check for leaks:
- After starting the engine, check all the fuel connections for any leaks.
- Listen for any unusual noises or rough idling, as this might indicate a persistent air leak in the fuel system.
