Instructions:
1. Park your Firebird on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels.
3. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Raise the front of the Firebird with a jack and support it on jack stands.
5. Locate the starter on the passenger side of the engine, near the bottom.
6. Remove the two 10mm bolts that hold the starter to the bell housing.
7. Remove the 15mm nut that connects the positive battery cable to the starter.
8. Use a pry bar to pry the starter loose from the bell housing.
9. Remove the starter from the car.
10. Reverse the above steps to install the new starter.
Tips:
- Be careful not to drop the starter when removing it from the car.
- Make sure that the new starter is properly seated in the bell housing before bolting it in place.
- Tighten the bolts and nuts securely.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Lower the Firebird and remove the jack stands.
- Start the engine and check for proper operation of the starter.
