2. Locate the fuel filter. It is usually located under the car, near the gas tank. The filter will be a cylindrical-shaped object with two fuel lines connecting to it.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter. Use a wrench to loosen the hose clamp that secures each fuel line to the filter. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
4. Remove the old fuel filter. Once the fuel lines are disconnected, you can remove the old fuel filter by unscrewing it from the threaded fitting on the fuel line.
5. Install the new fuel filter. Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the threads of the new filter before installing it. This will help to prevent leaks. Screw the new filter onto the threaded fitting until it is snug.
6. Reconnect the fuel lines. Attach the fuel lines to the new fuel filter and tighten the hose clamps.
7. Start the engine and check for leaks. Once the fuel filter is installed, start the engine and check for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the hose clamps until the leak stops.
