2. Remove the distributor cap. There are usually two or three bolts that hold it in place.
3. Note the position of the rotor. The rotor is the small, round metal piece inside the distributor cap. It should be pointing towards the #1 spark plug wire terminal on the distributor cap.
4. Install the new distributor cap. Make sure that the rotor is still pointing towards the #1 spark plug wire terminal.
5. Secure the distributor cap. Tighten the bolts that hold it in place.
6. Reattach the spark plug wires. Make sure that the wires are connected to the correct spark plug terminals.
