The throttle position sensor (TPS) is located on the driver's side of the engine, mounted to the throttle body. It is a small, black sensor with a single electrical connector.
To remove the TPS, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the TPS.
2. Use a 7/16-inch wrench to loosen the two bolts that hold the TPS to the throttle body.
3. Remove the TPS from the throttle body.
To install the new TPS, follow these steps:
1. Place the new TPS in the throttle body.
2. Install the two bolts that hold the TPS to the throttle body. Tighten the bolts to 10 ft-lbs.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the TPS.
Note: The TPS must be adjusted after it is installed. To adjust the TPS, you will need a scan tool that can read the TPS voltage. The TPS voltage should be between 0.5 volts and 4.5 volts at idle. If the TPS voltage is not within this range, you will need to adjust the TPS using the scan tool.
