* A wrench
* A screwdriver
1. Locate the timing marks on the engine. The timing marks are usually located on the front of the engine, near the crankshaft pulley.
2. Disconnect the vacuum advance line from the distributor.
3. Start the engine and let it idle.
4. Shine the timing light at the timing marks. The timing marks should line up with the pointer on the timing cover.
5. If the timing marks do not line up, use the wrench to loosen the distributor hold-down bolt.
6. Turn the distributor until the timing marks line up.
7. Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt.
8. Reconnect the vacuum advance line to the distributor.
Your engine is now properly timed.
