1. *Park the car on a level surface and turn the engine off.*
2. *Open the hood and locate the power steering fluid reservoir.* It is usually located near the front of the engine and has a black or clear cap.
3. *Check the fluid level.* The fluid should be between the "ADD" and "FULL" marks on the reservoir.
4. *If the fluid level is low, add enough fluid to bring it to the "FULL" mark.* Use only the type of fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
5. *Close the hood and start the engine.*
6. *Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right, holding it at each extreme for a few seconds.* This will help circulate the new fluid throughout the power steering system.
7. *Check the fluid level again and add more fluid if necessary to bring it to the "FULL" mark.*
8. *Monitor the fluid level regularly and add more fluid as needed.*
