- Leaking sunroof: A clogged or damaged sunroof drain can cause water to leak into the car.
- Faulty weatherstripping: Worn or damaged weatherstripping around the doors, windows, or trunk can allow water to seep in.
- Blocked cowl drains: The cowl drains are located at the base of the windshield and allow water to drain away from the car. If they become blocked, water can back up and leak into the car.
- Damaged windshield seal: A damaged or improperly installed windshield seal can allow water to leak into the car.
- Flooded floorboards: If the car has been driven through deep water, the floorboards may have become flooded.
- Condensation: In certain weather conditions, condensation can form on the inside of the car and can drip onto the floorboards.
- Coolant leak: A leak in the cooling system can cause a puddle of coolant to form under the car.
To determine the cause of the water puddle, you can check the following:
- Check the sunroof drains: Make sure the sunroof drains are clear and free of debris.
- Inspect the weatherstripping: Look for any gaps or damage in the weatherstripping around the doors, windows, and trunk.
- Clear the cowl drains: Make sure the cowl drains are clear and free of debris.
- Check the windshield seal: Look for any gaps or damage in the windshield seal.
- Check the floorboards: If the floorboards are wet, try to determine the source of the water.
- Look for leaks: Check for any leaks in the cooling system or other parts of the car.
