How do you change the intake manifold gasket on a 1991 Chevy pick up 5.7 lt 350 hp?

1. Gather the necessary tools and parts.

- 10mm socket

- 13mm socket

- 15mm socket

- 18mm socket

- Ratchet

- Extensions

- Screwdriver

- Pliers

- New intake manifold gasket

- Intake manifold bolts

- Thread sealant

2. Prepare the engine.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Drain the coolant from the radiator.

- Remove the air cleaner.

- Remove the throttle body.

- Remove the fuel lines.

- Remove the vacuum lines.

- Remove the distributor cap.

- Remove the spark plug wires.

3. Remove the intake manifold bolts.

- Use a 13mm socket to remove the intake manifold bolts.

- There are two bolts on each side of the intake manifold.

4. Remove the intake manifold.

- Use a pry bar to gently pry the intake manifold off of the engine.

- Be careful not to damage the gasket surface.

5. Clean the gasket surfaces.

- Use a scraper to clean the gasket surfaces on the engine and the intake manifold.

- Make sure to remove all of the old gasket material.

6. Apply thread sealant to the intake manifold bolts.

- Apply a small amount of thread sealant to the threads of the intake manifold bolts.

- This will help to prevent the bolts from coming loose.

7. Install the new intake manifold gasket.

- Place the new intake manifold gasket on the engine.

- Make sure that the gasket is properly aligned.

8. Reinstall the intake manifold.

- Gently lower the intake manifold onto the engine.

- Be careful not to damage the gasket.

9. Reinstall the intake manifold bolts.

- Reinstall the intake manifold bolts.

- Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to 35 ft-lbs.

10. Reinstall the remaining parts.

- Reinstall the distributor cap.

- Reinstall the spark plug wires.

- Reinstall the vacuum lines.

- Reinstall the fuel lines.

- Reinstall the throttle body.

- Reinstall the air cleaner.

11. Fill the radiator with coolant.

- Fill the radiator with coolant until the level is between the “FULL” and “ADD” marks.

12. Reconnect the battery.

- Reconnect the positive and negative battery terminals.

13. Start the engine and check for leaks.

- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

- Check for any leaks around the intake manifold.

- If there are any leaks, tighten the intake manifold bolts until the leaks stop.
