1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position but do not start the vehicle.
2. Press and hold the odometer reset button for five seconds.
3. While still holding the odometer reset button, turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
4. Release the odometer reset button and wait for the service engine soon light to turn off.
5. Start the vehicle and verify that the service engine light is off.
If the service engine light does not turn off, there may be an underlying issue with the vehicle that needs to be addressed.
