- A 1/2-inch drive ratchet and socket set
- A 3/8-inch drive ratchet and socket set
- A drift punch
- A hammer
- A screwdriver
- A pair of pliers
- A pair of safety glasses
1. Start by removing the transmission from the car.
2. Once the transmission is removed, place it on a workbench.
3. Remove the rear transmission case by removing the bolts that hold it in place.
4. Use a drift punch and hammer to drive out the old rear bearing.
5. Clean the bearing bore and inspect it for damage. If the bore is damaged, it will need to be repaired before installing the new bearing.
6. Apply a thin coat of grease to the new bearing and press it into place in the bore. Install the new bearing and snap ring.
7. Reinstall the rear transmission case and bolts.
8. Reinstall the transmission in the car.
