1. Locate the fuel filter. The fuel filter will typically be located on the side of the engine or mounted to the fuel injection pump.
2. Loosen the vent screw on the top of the fuel filter until fuel begins to flow out of the screw.
3. Re-tighten the vent screw.
4. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
5. If the engine starts and runs smoothly, the air has been successfully bled from the fuel system.
6. If the engine does not start or runs rough, repeat steps 2-5 until the air has been bled from the fuel system.
Here are some additional tips for bleeding air from the fuel system on a DT466 engine:
* Use a clean rag or paper towel to catch any spilled fuel.
* Be careful not to over-tighten the vent screw.
* If the engine does not start after several attempts, you may need to have it towed to a qualified mechanic.
