Here are the steps to replace the spark plugs on a 1992 Ford 4.9L six-cylinder engine:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the air cleaner cover.
3. Remove the spark plug wires by pulling them straight up off of the spark plugs.
4. Use a spark plug wrench to loosen and remove the spark plugs.
5. Install the new spark plugs by hand until they are snug.
6. Tighten the spark plugs with a spark plug wrench until they are snug.
7. Reconnect the spark plug wires.
8. Reinstall the air cleaner cover.
9. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
