3. Clean the area around the fill plug. Use a rag to wipe away any dirt or debris from the fill plug and the surrounding area.
4. Remove the fill plug and insert the dipstick. The dipstick is usually attached to the fill plug. Insert the dipstick into the reservoir until it touches the bottom.
5. Pull the dipstick out and check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
6. Add fluid if necessary. If the fluid level is low, add hydraulic fluid of the type specified in the tractor's owner's manual.
7. Replace the fill plug. Tighten the fill plug until it is snug.
