- Basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
- Socket wrench set
- Pry bar
- Funnel
- Coolant
- New water pump
- Coolant drain pan
- Shop towels
Instructions:
1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool completely.
3. Open the hood of your car.
4. Locate the water pump. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the bottom.
5. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
7. Remove the serpentine belt.
8. Remove the fan shroud.
9. Remove the bolts holding the water pump in place.
10. Carefully pry the water pump off of the engine block.
11. Clean the gasket surface on the engine block.
12. Install the new water pump.
13. Reinstall the fan shroud.
14. Reinstall the serpentine belt.
15. Reinstall the battery terminal.
16. Fill the radiator with coolant.
17. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
18. Check for any leaks.
