What is a road train?

A road train is a combination of vehicles that are connected together and operated as a single unit. The term is most commonly used in Australia to refer to a type of heavy vehicle that is used to transport goods over long distances. Road trains typically consist of a prime mover, which is a large truck that provides the power to the entire vehicle, and multiple trailers, which are attached to the prime mover and carry the load. The trailers can vary in size and type, and can be used to transport a wide variety of goods, such as livestock, fuel, and construction materials. Road trains can be up to 53.5 metres (175 feet) long and carry a load of up to 120 tonnes (132 tons). They are often used in remote areas where the roads are not suitable for conventional trucks.
