1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Drain the oil and coolant from the engine.
3. Remove the air filter.
4. Disconnect the throttle cable and fuel line from the carburetor.
5. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
6. Remove the distributor cap and rotor.
7. Locate the engine mount bolts on the front and rear of the engine.
8. Loosen the engine mount bolts, but do not remove them completely.
9. Place a jack under the oil pan and raise it until the engine is supported.
10. Remove the engine mount bolts and lower the engine.
11. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
12. Remove the flywheel cover and clutch assembly.
13. Remove the oil pump and oil filter.
14. Remove the cylinder heads.
15. Remove the pistons and connecting rods.
16. Remove the crankshaft.
17. Remove the oil pan.
18. Remove the water pump.
19. Remove the timing chain and gears.
20. Remove the camshaft.
