1. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that the rotor is attached to, but do not remove the nuts completely.
2. Raise the car with a jack and place a jack stand under the frame for safety.
3. Remove the lug nuts and take the wheel off.
4. Locate the two bolts that hold the caliper in place. These are on the back side of the caliper and may be covered in grease or dirt.
5. Remove the bolts using a socket wrench.
6. Gently pry the caliper off of the rotor using a C-clamp. Be careful not to damage the brake pads or caliper.
7. Slide the rotor off of the hub.
8. If the rotor is stuck, you can use a rubber mallet to gently tap it loose.
Once the rotor is off, you can inspect it for wear and replace it if necessary. Be sure to reinstall the rotor and caliper in the correct order and torque the bolts to the specified torque.
