1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. The auxiliary fan may still be running even after the engine is off, so give it a few minutes to cool down before attempting to disconnect it.
2. Locate the auxiliary fan motor. It is usually located behind the radiator or in front of the engine. It is a small, round motor with a black or silver housing.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary fan motor. This will prevent the fan from receiving power and running.
4. Test the auxiliary fan. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. The auxiliary fan should not turn on. If it does, you may need to check the wiring or replace the fan motor.
Method 2: Using the Climate Control System
1. Start the engine and turn on the climate control system. Set the fan speed to the highest setting.
2. Wait for the auxiliary fan to turn on. It may take a few minutes for the fan to turn on, especially if the engine is not fully warmed up.
3. Once the auxiliary fan is on, turn the climate control system off. This will turn off the fan as well.
4. Test the auxiliary fan. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. The auxiliary fan should not turn on. If it does, you may need to check the wiring or replace the fan motor.
