Step 2: Prepare the car
- Open the hood of the car.
- Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug on the engine.
- Use a wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely.
- While the oil is draining, locate the oil filter and loosen it using a wrench.
Step 3: Replace the oil filter
- Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
- Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug.
Step 4: Add new oil
- Use the funnel to add the new oil to the engine.
- Add the correct amount of oil according to the owner’s manual.
Step 5: Check the oil level
-Use the dipstick to check the oil level.
-The oil level should be between the “full” and “add” marks on the dipstick.
Step 6: Start the car
- Start the car and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check for any leaks.
- If there are no leaks, turn off the car and check the oil level again.
- The oil level should still be between the “full” and “add” marks on the dipstick.
