How do you make a brake piston retract?

To retract a brake piston, you will need the following tools:

- Brake fluid

- A brake caliper spreader or C-clamp

- A flathead screwdriver

- A rag

- Safety glasses

1. Loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap. This will allow air to enter the reservoir as the piston is retracted.

2. Use the brake caliper spreader or C-clamp to compress the brake pads. This will create space for the piston to retract.

3. Insert the flathead screwdriver between the brake pad and the piston. This will help to pry the piston back into the caliper.

4. Use the rag to absorb any brake fluid that leaks out.

5. Continue to pry the piston back into the caliper until it is fully retracted.

6. Replace the brake caliper spreader or C-clamp.

7. Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap.

8. Test the brakes to make sure they are working properly.

Note: If the brake piston is seized, you may need to use a brake piston removal tool to remove it.
