Tools and Materials:
* Garden hose
* 5 gallons of distilled water
* Funnel
* Rags
* Safety goggles
Instructions
1. Park the Discovery on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down.
2. Open the hood of the Discovery.
3. Locate the radiator cap on the top of the radiator.
4. Remove the radiator cap and set it aside.
5. Attach the garden hose to the radiator draincock, which is located at the bottom of the radiator.
6. Open the draincock and allow the old coolant to drain into a bucket.
7. Once the old coolant has drained, close the draincock.
8. Attach the garden hose to the radiator filler neck and turn on the water.
9. Allow the water to flow through the radiator until it runs clear.
10. Turn off the water and disconnect the garden hose.
11. Add distilled water to the radiator until it is full.
12. Replace the radiator cap and close the hood of the Discovery.
That's it! You have successfully flushed the radiator in your Land Rover Discovery.
Tips
* Be sure to use distilled water when flushing the radiator. Tap water contains minerals that can build up in the radiator and cause damage.
* If the old coolant is very dirty, you may need to flush the radiator more than once.
* To prevent future buildup, you should add a radiator flush product to the coolant every few years.
