- New oil filter (check owner's manual for correct size)
- New oil (check owner's manual for correct type and amount)
- Oil drain pan
- Funnel

Step 1: Prepare your car
- Park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Open the hood and locate the oil drain plug and the oil filter.
Step 2: Drain the old oil
- Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
- Use the wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain into the pan.
- Allow all of the old oil to drain out before replacing the drain plug.
Step 3: Replace the oil filter
- Locate the oil filter.
- Use the wrench to loosen the oil filter and remove it.
- Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
- Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug.
- Do not overtighten the oil filter.
Step 4: Add new oil
- Locate the oil filler cap.
- Remove the oil filler cap.
- Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine.
- Add the amount of oil specified in your owner's manual.
- Replace the oil filler cap.
Step 5: Check the oil level
- Use the dipstick to check the oil level.
- The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
- If the oil level is low, add more oil.
- If the oil level is high, drain some oil out of the engine.
Step 6: Start the engine
- Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
- Turn off the engine and check for any leaks.
- If there are no leaks, your oil change is complete.
