1. Locate the speedometer cable. It is located behind the instrument cluster, on the driver's side of the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the instrument cluster. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the speedometer cable in place. Then, use a flat head screwdriver to pry the speedometer cable out of the instrument cluster.
3. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission. Use a pair of pliers to remove the clamp that holds the speedometer cable in place. Then, use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nut that holds the speedometer cable to the transmission.
4. Remove the speedometer cable from the vehicle. Once the speedometer cable is disconnected from the instrument cluster and the transmission, you can pull it out of the vehicle.
5. Install the new speedometer cable. Insert the new speedometer cable into the vehicle, and connect it to the transmission. Tighten the nut that holds the speedometer cable to the transmission.
6. Connect the speedometer cable to the instrument cluster. Insert the speedometer cable into the instrument cluster, and secure it with the two screws that you removed earlier.
7. Test the speedometer. Start the vehicle and drive it around for a short distance. Verify that the speedometer is working correctly.
If the speedometer is still not working, you may need to have the vehicle's instrument cluster repaired or replaced.
