How can you test the fuel pump on a 1992 Volvo 240?

To test the fuel pump on a 1992 Volvo 240, you will need the following tools:

* A multimeter

* A jumper wire

* A container for gasoline

1. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter.

2. Point the fuel line into a container for gasoline.

3. Connect the multimeter's positive lead to the fuel pump's positive terminal and the negative lead to the fuel pump's negative terminal.

4. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

5. The fuel pump should run, and you should see a voltage reading of 12 volts on the multimeter.

6. If the fuel pump does not run, or you do not see a voltage reading of 12 volts, the fuel pump may be faulty and need to be replaced.

You can also test the fuel pump by jumping it. To do this, you will need to locate the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay is located under the hood of the car, on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It is a black box with a blue connector.

Once you have located the fuel pump relay, remove it from the fuse box.

Then, insert a jumper wire into the slots on the relay marked 30 and 87

Turn the ignition key to the "On" position. If the fuel pump runs, then the fuel pump is good. If the fuel pump does not run, then the fuel pump may be faulty and need to be replaced.
