How do you release your parking brake on 2001 cadillac sts?

The 2001 Cadillac STS has a standard parking brake lever located on the center console, usually between the front seats. To release it, simply lift the lever up. There's no button to push; it's a purely mechanical release. If it's difficult to release, try gently rocking the car back and forth while lifting the lever.
